Community Based Parenting

Strengthening Family Relationships!!

P5 - Participatory Program Promoting Pleasurable Parenting

P5 Australia continues to grow throughout Australia owing to the success of the P5 Program. With the focus being community-based, for parents by parents, Australian families from a variety of cultural backgrounds are enjoying this simple yet empowering approach to parenting.

P5 is a structured program that requires participation and helps parents to explore the issues of parenting in a way that allows them to make informed and responsible decisions.
P5 does not tell parents what to do. It encourages parents to make their own decisions confidently.

P5 is not about controlling children - it is about making the most of their skills and energy to secure co-operation and responsibility.
The principles of P5 will help children grow into their own people, confidently able to make their own way in the world.

P5 aims to make parenting enjoyable.
P5 particularly aims to help parents become confident so that they are not prey to the guilt and doubts that can all too easily come from receiving conflicting advice.

Above all P5 is meant to be fun!

The P5 Program provides:
  •  Analysis of behaviours parents find challenging
  •  Exploration of parental attitudes and beliefs
  •  Exploration of developmental principles that relate to pro-social     independence
  •  Behavioural strategies to address problem behaviours
  •  Family communication and relationships
  •  Community development of support groups and networks
    P5 Australia's Vision
P5 Australia’s vision is to provide a high value, low cost, sustainable, community based parent education resource available throughout Australian communities. For parents by parents working in partnership with community and family services.
